Long before the Japanese invasion, Peugeot did excellente work in the difficult and exhausting African Rallies. To conquer this continent Peugeot had to make a big offensive. In the sixties they where a  formidable participant on the tracks of  Morocco, Kenya, of de Ivory coast. Many times they showed there superiority.

In 1978 , Jean Pierre Nicolas winns the East African Safari, on the handle of an 504 V6 Coupe V6 Group 4: this car is relocated and is the central figure in this story.
